Description

A multi-award winning vintage cheddar with an intensely rich, complex flavour and crunchy texture; typically matured for 36 months.

The true hero of a cheeseboard – try serving with chutney, grapes and crackers. Excellent with Cornish ale or brandy for an after-dinner treat.

Designed to deliver a slightly crunchy texture; this is due to the formation of naturally occurring calcium lactate crystals which are found in high quality aged cheddars. These appear as white flecks, developing further as the cheese matures, enhancing both the character and the mouthfeel of the cheese.

Davidstow Cheddar is made with exacting care at our multi-award winning creamery in the Cornish village of the same name. Inspired by our location, nestled between the moor and the sea, our recipe has been meticulously crafted for almost 70 years, ensuring every bite is never less than perfect.

Storage

We strive to supply all our products with a minimum 2 week shelf life.
Keep refrigerated below 5°C.
Remove from fridge 30 minutes before consumption.

Packaged in a protective atmosphere.
To keep this product at its best once opened, ensure pack is kept properly sealed.

Suitable for freezing. For best results, grate before freezing, then use in cooking.

Recycling Information

Plastic film – not yet recycled through kerbside collections. The plastic film we currently use to wrap most of our cheese is made up of a number of different layers. These ensure the cheese doesn’t become contaminated before you open it, has a good best before date and stays fresher for longer, thereby helping to reduce food waste.
